We automatically manage the smoothing and storage of your solar energy

At times when there's not enough sun or an excess of energy in the system, to help maintain the stability of the network. ​

Solar smoothing is a simple service fee based on your solar inverter size

Charged at 35.5000 cents per kVa of solar inverter capacity, per day and charged monthly/bi-monthly (dependent on your billing cycle).

For example if your solar PV system's...

Total solar inverter capacity is
100 kVa

Then you'll pay
35.5000 cents per unit of solar capacity (kVA)

Included as part your energy bill
$1,100.50 monthly service fee

  • With limited floor area to securely house a battery - not every business has the physical space for an onsite smoothing battery. Solar Smoothing offers a way to install solar without the physical space required for an onsite battery.

  • Who are safety conscious - and don’t want to take on the increased risk of have a large smoothing battery on site, Solar Smoothing is a way to reduce this risk profile.​

  • After a simple solution - without the need for an onsite battery and associated costs and ongoing maintenance, Solar Smoothing offers a way to decrease the complexity of the installation.

  • Tenants with leasing or ownership constraints - if a tenant doesn’t think they’re going to be in the property for as long as useful life of the onsite smoothing battery, Solar Smoothing offers a way to improve the payback period.

How to apply

Your solar installer will confirm your Solar Smoothing eligiblity and charges as part of your solar installation costs - if available in your town. Opt in to this service must be submitted as part of the request to connect renewables application.
