Shark Lake Road Renewable Energy Site Transport Movements

June 25 2021

Horizon Power and Contract Power Australia are excited to announce that the Shark Lake Renewable Energy Project has reached a substantial milestone with the arrival of the new wind turbines into the port of Esperance. The vessel is forecast to dock on Friday 25 June 2021. Once alongside the wind turbines will be discharged into the Southern Ports laydown yard where the modules will be prepared for transport via road freight to the Renewables Hub on Shark Lake Road.

We wish to provide advance notice that road transport of these large modules from Southern Ports to Shark Lake Road will commence on Tuesday 29 June 2021 and continue periodically through to Sunday 4 July 2021. The modules will travel via Hughes Road, Harbour Road, Norseman Road, Coolgardie-Esperance Highway and Shark Lake Road at the forecasted times as provided below. Traffic management will be in place with every effort made to minimise impact on road users.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Esperance community and businesses in advance for their understanding and patience during these works. Please note during the times identified there will be traffic delays when travelling on the roads mentioned above. This includes travel to and from the Esperance airport.
