Recall of WireAlert plug-in device

February 21 2020

Horizon Power has become aware of a design defect in a home plug-in electrical safety sensor called WireAlert supplied to local customers in the Esperance, Hopetoun and Norseman areas back in 2010, as part of an electrical fault detention safety campaign.

The device, which looks a bit like a double adaptor, plugs into a normal power point. It monitors potentially unsafe neutral faults or voltage fluctuations and provides a sound or light alert if a fault is detected at a customer’s premises.

We’ve decided, as a precautionary measure, to immediately recall and safely dispose of these devices to eliminate any potential risk of electric shock or electrocution to any of our customers.

People in possession of a WireAlert should immediately stop using it, unplug and return to our Esperance depot at 143 Sims Street Esperance, or any other Horizon Power office or depot in the State for safe disposal.

Please direct all calls and any queries concerning this recall to Horizon Power on 1800 267 926 or email enquiries@horizonpower-reply.com.au
