DIY Business Energy Audit

Find out what's contributing to your bill and the steps you can take to reduce your energy costs.

1. Put an action plan in place

Your recommended business energy saving tips will give you a good understanding of the areas where your business uses energy and some ideas of where you can improve.

Getting started

We recommend starting with the easiest, lower cost tips first to start your journey. Use details from this audit to form the basis of your business energy efficiency plan and help prioritise where to focus your efforts first.

It's important to note...

Heating, cooling, lighting and appliances contribute the most to a typical power bill. Whether you run a cafe, retail shop or small office.

Changing the way you use high-energy consuming appliances (like reverse-cycle air conditioners) will make the most obvious difference to your bill. Changing how you use a lower consumption appliance (like switching a washing cycle to cold water), will take longer to notice a difference.

Create an action plan for your business

Use the energy audit result as your guide of changes to make and create a list of:

  • the changes and actions that need to be made
  • who's responsible for making it happen
  • proposed date the action will be completed.
