Horizon Power to assess network after flooding in Warmun

Horizon Power is using a helicopter to transport crew members to Warmun Community to assess the state of the electricity network after flooding overnight.

Horizon Power will need to wait until flood levels recede further to take any action to prepare to reconnect the electricity feeders concerned.

Horizon Power will also mobilise additional line crews and electrical contractors in order to minimise the power disruption and reconnect properties as quickly as possible.

For the safety of the community, all properties will be inspected prior to connection. Any property that is inundated with flood water or does not comply with WA Electrical Requirements cannot be reconnected until faults are rectified, the property is inspected by a qualified electrical contractor and an authorised electricity safety test sheet is issued.

Horizon Power thanks the community for its patience and understanding while it works to restore power supplies.

Please stay away from any fallen powerlines or damaged electrical infrastructure and report any power failures to Horizon Power on 13 23 51.
