Supporting customers on the Esperance Gas Distribution Network

The Esperance Gas Network Distribution Company has announced it will stop supplying gas from 31 March 2022.

For homes and business connected to the Esperance Gas Distribution Network, we understand how important having a reliable and secure gas energy supply is. That’s why we’re engaging with current users of the Esperance Gas Distribution Network to help support them through any changes to gas supply. 

We’re working with the WA Government on gas distribution network options 

Horizon Power doesn’t sell gas, but we want customers using the Esperance Gas Distribution Network to have access to reliable and secure energy.

First, we are working on understanding what the impact to the Esperance community is without access to the Esperance Gas Distribution Network. We’re supporting the WA Government to investigate potential solutions for access to the gas network after 31 March 2022.

As part of developing future gas network options in Esperance, engaging with customers of the Esperance Gas Distribution Company as part of this process will be important. We want to get feedback from customers connected to the Esperance Gas Distribution Network to make sure any transition on the gas network has a minimal impact, and customers are well prepared for any changes to their access to the gas network.

No, Horizon Power doesn’t have a retail gas license and do not offer a gas product.  

We are  working  with  the  State  Government  to  investigate  possible  solutions  for  gas  customers connected to the Esperance Gas Distribution Network after the Esperance Gas Distribution Company stop selling gas.

No, if you currently use gas that is supplied through bottled gas and not the reticulated gas network, you’re gas supply won’t be impacted.
