Horizon Power gets a buzz for learning

Release Date: 4 March 2010

From June, schools will be able to book a fully stocked resource kit for use in their school, free of charge. The kit will include a teacher resource book designed to achieve the Curriculum Framework outcomes and values, and will come with all the resources required to carry out the activities.

As part of the program, our Education Officer will visit schools to deliver an exciting hands-on workshop. The students will be taken on a discovery learning journey about the ins-and-outs of electricity. We will also have a variety of presentations available that will provide information on Horizon Power and the career pathways available for students aspiring to work with us.

Students and teachers will have access to a range of online activities such as problem-solving games, memory games and information on what we do at Horizon Power. The website will also feature a range of teaching materials and we will be encouraging educators to showcase what is happening in their schools and classrooms.

Horizon Power is committed to adding value to the communities we serve and the environment we work in. Through actively seeking a positive relationship with the school community, we aim to develop a lasting and successful link between the students, parents, teachers and the team at Horizon Power.

Over the coming months, you will see a new education section introduced on our website. If you would like more information on our education program or have a suggestion that will help deliver a high quality program, please email gabrielle.migliore@horizonpower.com.au
