Horizon Power and its supply partners have in place effective fuel storage measures, in addition to the capacity to burn liquid fuels at all regional towns supplied by Horizon Power and at this stage does not expect any threat to our customers' electricity supplies.
Plans are also in place to cover the eventuality the gas supply restriction lasts longer than the initial estimates.
Horizon Power, with its central position in the North West Interconnected System (NWIS), is coordinating efforts to limit the impact on industrial gas consumers affected by the Apache gas curtailment in the North West of the state.
Horizon Power will continue to monitor the situation as more information is received, regarding the expected duration of the gas supply interruption. Customers can assist Horizon Power in managing this situation by the efficient use of energy, thereby minimising their consumption.
