Stubble Burning

Please take care when stubble burning this year.

To avoid fires that may cause a dangerous situation or widespread damage, please remember to:

• Check for overhead powerlines before starting work.  If powerlines are located near the work area, confirm voltages and safety clearances by telephoning 9441 7338.
• Clear any vegetation around the base of power poles by at least 1.5 metres.
• Wet pole bases thoroughly.
• Don't rake wind-rows beneath or adjacent to powerlines or poles.
• Avoid stubble burning when conditions are not suitable.
• Check fires regularly.
