Town Reserves Regularisation Project
This is a joint project between Horizon Power and the Department of Housing and Works. The project aims to regularise the power supply arrangements in Aboriginal Town Reserve communities.
Under the project, Horizon Power will:
- upgrade the existing distribution network in the communities; and
- establish a direct retail arrangement with customers instead of the existing master meter arrangement.
Horizon Power has undertaken consultation with the initial Kimberley communities included in phase 1 of the project. Through the regularisation project, Ready Power, a pay as you go electricity system using pre-payment meters has been introduced.
