Horizon Power has a number of power projects underway to improve the reliability and quality of power supply to customers. As an outcome of the projects, new privately owned power stations are constructed to replace Horizon Power's ageing diesel power stations. In some cases this has resulted in new fuel sources being used in larger regional centres, such as natural gas in Esperance, Exmouth and the West Kimberley region.
With the Coral Bay Power Project and Aboriginal and Remote Communities Power Supply Project, Horizon Power will take on the retail role to customers living in these communities for the first time. Electricity will be retailed to these customers at the State uniform tariff.
