The Auditor General of Western Australia is appointed as Horizon Power’s external auditor under the Electricity Corporations Act 2005.  The Auditor General is an independent officer of Parliament.  The ARMC has no power of direction over the Auditor General or the manner in which the external audit is planned or undertaken.

However, the ARMC sees value in consulting with the external auditor in the interests of expediency and efficiency in processes.
