At the core of Horizon Power's business strategy is our commitment to maximise the value of our economic, social and environmental intergenerational assets in regional Western Australia, which comprises tangible and intagible assets.

Horizon Power's education program, Horizon Discovery Zone, is one of the intangible assets we deliver that will benefit future generations. The aim is to teach today's children about energy efficiency, energy safety and careers in the electrical industry to benefit generations to come.

Students are given the knowledge to communicate electrical safety and efficiency messages to their family and friends. Educating students about renewable energy sources and ways to reduce energy consumption allows them to make informed choices about how to help deliver positive environmental outcomes for their community.

The program is available to all primary and secondary schools in Horizon Power's service area. Our education officer also visits schools to assist in its delivery. The program, including careers information, is also represented at various science and career expos held throughout our service area.
